Cindy Stokes is a lecturer in the Department of Family, Consumer, and Human Development at Utah State University. She believes, “academic training in family science is only part of what is needed to achieve success and career advancement. Success is also greatly determined by skills” (NCFR, 2016). Her teaching focuses on the development of skills. She does this in three main ways: practical application of course content, critical thinking activities and assignments, and kinesthetic (also called active) learning. She also teaches webinars and review sessions for the AFCPE. She loves spending time and having adventures with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
